NOTE: Daniel died November 18, 1858 and the two girls listed below were old enough to have been his daughters.
In 1860 a Cathrine Layman is found in Ashland Co., Ohio, Ashland is the County from which Daniel's wife had came. She had the two daughters listed below. She married Samuel Smith April 22, 1860. They were married by George Witner in Ashland County, Ohio. Samuel Smith was much older than Cathrine, born Abt. 1799.

* It is my theory that this is Daniel's wife and daughters. After Daniel's death Cathrine went back to relatives in Ohio, and married Samuel Smith in a marriage of convenience.
